Experience you will gain
Our internships are designed to give you hands-on work experience. Internships are created around a project that is related to your degree and career interests, as well as our business needs. You will lead the project with the expectation to complete it within the 10 to 12 week internship. You’ll be supported by a mentor and other experienced team members for those times that you need guidance. At the end of the internship, you’ll give a final presentation about your project results and recommended actions. Make the most of the opportunity!
Paycheck you will earn
We know that gaining experience is invaluable, but it won’t pay the bills. That’s why you’ll earn competitive pay based on your field of study and year in school. Additionally, we will reimburse you for costs associated with relocating to California, plus a monthly stipend to help defray living costs.
Our internship program runs between May and September for up to 12 weeks, depending on your class schedule. Most interns work at our company headquarters in Bakersfield or at one of our nearby production units. You may also have the opportunity to work at our units in Ventura or San Ardo.
Requirements
To be an Aera intern, you must have finished at least your first year of college/university and have an overall GPA of at least 2.8 in your degree program. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
We consider students pursuing the following degrees:
Accounting, Chemical Engineering, Communications, Computer Science, Finance, Geological Engineering, Geology, Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, Management, Management Information Systems (MIS), Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Petroleum Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant fields of study.
